0042. Burn injury stabilises extracellular atp and induces microvesicle production in skin

چکیده
Introduction Microvesicles (MVs) are subcellular membrane-enclosed particles released from activated or dying cells with multiple functions, including induction of inflammation. A role for MVs has been indicated in sepsisand traumarelated systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS), but their production and function in severe burns injury is unknown. Extracellular ATP released from mechanically injured cells is an important stimulus for MV production [1], but this response is usually limited spatially as well as temporally by the rapid breakdown of extracellular ATP by ectoATPases. Due to the known sensitivity of ectoATPases to thermal inactivation [2], we hypothesised that ATP released during thermal injury would be stable and capable of inducing MVs from viable responder cells within the burn tissue microenvironment.

Hemin Induces the Activation of NLRP3 Inflammasome in N9 Microglial Cells
Background: Hemin is an important sterile component that induces a neuroinflammatory response after intracerebral hemorrhage, in which NLRP3 inflammasome activation has also proved to be involved. Although microglial activation acts as a key contributor in the neuroinflammatory response, the relationship between hemin and NLRP3 in microglia remains poorly understood. Objective: To investigate w...
متن کاملChronic Wounds in Burn Injury: A Case Report on Importance of Biofilms
According to the National Institutes of Health and the Center for Disease and Prevention, it is estimated that 65 to 80 percent of the human infectious are caused by biofilms. Antibiotics and drainage of purulent discharge are the main treatment measures. But in chronic infections sometimes these findings are not easy to recognize. Biofilm is an extracellular polymeric conglomeration generally ...
متن کاملAmeliorative Effects of Pistacia atlantica Resin Oil on Experimentally-Induced Skin Burn in Rat
Background and objectives: Severe burn damage and its consequences are life threatening which can complicate patients’ health. Burn damage increases reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation which leads to severe damage to tissues and is implicated in burn shock. Some medicinal and traditional plants are considered as safe, natural and inexpensive sources for treatment of differ...
متن کاملAcute effect of burn trauma to small skin areas on myocardial ischemia reperfusion
Introduction: It has been reported that traumas such as transverse abdominal incision before myocardial ischemia result in a significantly decreased infarct size. This phenomenon is named remote preconditioning of trauma. Since small skin burn is one of most common traumas, the effect of this injury on ischemia-induced arrhythmias and infarct size was investigated in a rat model of ischemia-...
متن کاملSkin-resident T cells sense ultraviolet radiation-induced injury and contribute to DNA repair.
Skin-resident T cells have been shown to play important roles in tissue homeostasis and wound repair, but their role in UV radiation (UVR)-mediated skin injury and subsequent tissue regeneration is less clear. In this study, we demonstrate that acute UVR rapidly activates skin-resident T cells in humans and dendritic epidermal γδ T cells (DETCs) in mice through mechanisms involving the release ...
